CONFERENCE NEWS

The Book (New Developments in the Theory of Networks will be published in summer 2010!)

EMNet-BOOK: Manuscript preparation

The revised manuscript (with language check and all formal requirements) must be submitted by January 24 (josef.windsperger@univie.ac.at).

Springer Rules

For the preparation of your manuscript, the attached Springer templates or Springer LaTex stylefiles can be used. www.springer.com/authors/book+authors.

After submission to Springer, the manuscript will be transmitted to a Springer typesetter for typesetting and formal copy-editing. The final proofs will be sent to the editors/authors for approval. Production time from the delivery of the manuscript until publication of the book is about five months.

Manuscript submission to Springer (for more information, please see the ‘author instructions’ at the above mentioned link):

- Content and structure of the manuscript is the responsibility of the author. The manuscripts have to be checked by a native speaker.

- In general, no index will be prepared. If you would like to have an index, Word- or TeX-coding should be used.

- Each chapter can be preceded by an abstract (10–15 lines long) that summarizes the content. The abstract will then appear in the print book as well as online at SpringerLink with unrestricted access. If no abstract is provided the 1st paragraph of each chapter will be published online at SpringerLink.

- Contributing volume: The first page of each contribution should include the following information: title, authors names, abstract, keywords (only if wished), complete address (Department (or company), University, Street, Postal Code + City, State (for addresses in the <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">U.S.</place></country-region> only), Country) and email-address of the corresponding author.

- Please use the decimal system of chapter headings with no more than four levels, e.g.:

2 Chapter

2.1 Section

2.1.1 Subsection

2.1.1.1 Sub-Subsection

- Please number the Introduction as first chapter: “1 Introduction”

- In cross-references, please refer to the chapter or section number (e.g., see Sect. 3.5.1). In references to figures or tables, please refer to the figure or table number ( e.g. see Fig. 1.3) and do not write e.g. “the following figure”. (Important information: According to international typesetting standards, figures and tables will be placed by our typesetter by default at the top or at the bottom of a page.)

- If appendices contain content-related information (exceeding indices, references, glossaries, or authors list), they should be integrated in the chapter structure as last chapter(s).

- Please provide a table of contents (including parts if required; no subparts). Please list only the top three levels of headings in the table of contents.

- Contributing volume: We need the list of contributors with their full addresses.

- Please submit the source files of your manuscript (Word or LaTeX) as well as a PDF file with all the fonts embedded.

- Save each chapter or contribution (including the accompanying references, figure legends, and tables) as well as the preliminary table of contents and the list of contributors in separate files. Give each individual file your own name (or an abbreviation), the chapter number, and the format suffix, e.g., Miller3.doc or Miller3.rtf

- If you submit <state w:st="on"><place w:st="on">TeX</place></state> files, save the figures separately.

- Please enclose a list of all the files with your submission.

- Keep personal copies of the files.

- Please submit your manuscript files to our FTP server or email us a zip-file. If you would like to submit your manuscript to our ftp server, please contact us.
